The Cheapest Destinations Blog has been around since 2003, so as with a long-cluttered attic, it may not always be easy to find what you need. So here’s a quick guide to getting to what interests you the most and keeping in touch with what’s new.
If you still use an RSS feed, click that link to subscribe. Or you can get an e-mail alert when a new blog post goes up, which is generally twice per week. Just put your address in this box.
If your main interest is in moving abroad to one of the cheapest places to live, or being nomadic, get on the cheap living abroad updates list. That goes out once per month. When you register, you'll get a free report on where you can live more than three months on just a tourist visa.
I'm on the major social media platforms and post to them somewhat regularly. If you look in the sidebar (desktop) or scroll down far enough (on mobile) you'll find the icons, but here are direct links: Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Flipboard, YouTube, G+, and Instagram. I try to keep things interesting on all of them.
If you're not sure who I am or why you should listen to me, here's the About Tim Leffel page or you can check out my portfolio site with books, articles, and media appearances. Click on the "Leffel's Other Sites" link in the navigation to see what other blogs and travel websites I run.
What do people read on here the most? On any single post you'll find a list of the 10 most popular posts for the past 90 days in the sidebar or at the bottom, with links. Here are some general subjects though that most of those fall into.
Most of the time this blog is informative and meant to help you travel well on a smaller budget. I'm not frugal to the point of ridiculousness because sometimes great experiences cost real money and memories are worth more than a nicer car. The guiding principle is "good value" though and not spending more than you have to. I also write about travel hacking and loyalty points because those are good ways to offset flight and hotel costs. Come along for the ride and I hope you'll learn a few things that will save you a small fortune.
If you want to read some of the most useful info from here on a Kindle instead of this screen with ads, here's a good primer that will only set you back $3,99. I've got lots more books available on Amazon if you click the author link.
Thanks for being part of the community! I read every legit blog comment, so leave one if you've got some feedback.
